What am I going to do, what do I need, what is it I
want to achieve? Gathering knowledge, gathering parts,
buying new tools, prepping the car... |
The bass box was the first thing to start
construction and the last thing to be completed and is
the center piece of the install. It has many stages. |
Good bass response comes from a stiff enclosure to
ensure vibrations of the car panels do not distort bass
and dissipate power - Dynamat (one of several companies)
does the job just fine but it took the longest part of
the entire install, cost a fair few hundred bucks and was
difficult to work with - but then , I'm a perfectionist
and it had to be good. |

With two amps, a changer, a stiffening cap, an XM
receiver and the bass box, finding places to mount it all
in a Stangs trunk took days in itself. |
The Mach 460 systems has 8 separate speakers - I
replaced them all and added a few extras. |
Including power, signal and speaker - lots and lots
of cable. |
