A Brief Life History

Born in Auckland Hospital, Feb 1st 1968, at about 3:45am - that makes me an Aquarian.

About age 1 we moved to Australia and spent 5 years travelling completely around the country (I wonder if I got the travel bug then?). We moved back to NZ when I was 6 - my Brother (Stephen) was born in Australia so he's technically an Aussie, but I don't hold that against him. I don't recall much from that time - very little in fact except getting clobbered in the back of the head with a rock in some trailer park - hey, I guess I was white trailer trash - can I say that here?

We moved about Auckland a bit and when I was 8, Mom left Dad and we moved to an old wood house with a dark and creaky interior with a new Stepfather. He was in our lives for 13 years - not a happy time to say the least.

We moved from Mt Roskill to Mt Albert (Auckland Suburb) then a few years later moved into the house immediately in front of us.

When I was 18, I moved to Christchurch as a telecommunications cadet for the Civil Aviation Authority. That was for 3 months and I boarded at two different places while there. I then moved to Wellington for another few years, again boarding in 2 places and flatting with one hellishly weird guy for a brief time.

I took voluntary severance (the Civil Aviation was government run and it was then sold off and made into a State Owned Enterprise (SOE) and there was no work for months which got very boring) and moving back to Auckland where I started at university.

During my first year exams at university, Mom left that prick of a stepfather and we moved again to Lynnfield (another Auckland suburb). I had my 21st there. 6 months or so later we moved into a townhouse in Mt Albert. A few years go by and Mom marries another guy Peter, with whom she remains - he's a bloody nice guy with a daughter and son of his own - so technically they're my stepsister and stepbrother.

So, making a long story short, Mom moves in with Peter and I remain in the townhouse and take on a few roommates. Karen comes into my life and we move in together to Papatoetoe. 8 months later we move to Christchurch for a new job, living in one place this time, then overseas for a 6 month OE, back to CHCH for another few years, living in 3 different places then finally moved to the US in Jan 1997.

Lived in Mountain View for a month, then Los Altos for about 17 months, then Sunnyvale for a year, San Jose for about 18 months until I recently moved to Hopkinton, Massachusettes where I currently live.
