Diaries and Pictures

In both Europe and South East Asia, I kept a day by day diary of my traveling experiences. I also noted such things as driving habits of the locals, prices for gas, accommodation and food, youth hostel information and a listing of what rolls of film contained what.

The picture to the left is a page from the Europe trip.

For the Europe trip all I had was a 5-stage auto focus 35mm camera - that's what all the pictures on this site were taken with. Being very tight for room a full SLR could not be warranted.

In Asia, I had a Cannon EOS 500 with a 300mm zoom lens. This was somewhat larger and much more obvious in terms to a target for stealing, however, one of the main sight seeing targets was the Orangutans in Malaysia so I wanted a long zoom camera.

In East Africa, I took my Nikon D70 with a 70-200 f2.8 VR lens with a 1.6x - and a 18-200 3.5-6.5 OS Sigma lens - got fantastic pictures - over 1100 in fact.
